While most of Wadena lies outside our border, the community is connected with Otter Tail County in many ways. Most literally is HWY 10 which runs through the City of Wadena and leads a lot of our visitors & residents to #lakelife.
With a population of just over 4,000 people, Wadena offers folks a ton of amenities with plenty of small town charm. Just south of US HWY 10 is a charming downtown with places to eat, shop and play. Black’s Grove Park is just a few miles west of town and is truly one of Otter Tail County’s hidden gems. There are trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
Wadena is home to a number of schools. There is Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools (K-12) and Minnesota State Community & Technical College are the largest educators. If you visit make sure to stop and say hi to Dana and the Chamber. These offices are located in the historic Train Depot in BN Park.
